Who created basketball?
During this period, due to the cold, ACM students were unable to play football or baseball. James Naismith then used two baskets of peach and positioned them at the ends of the court, 3.05 meters from the ground.
The aim of the sport created was simply that the teams hit the ball inside the baskets. Naismith also drew up 13 rules so that basketball could be played by students at the Christian Youth Association.
Interestingly, 4 years later, also at ACM, the history of volleyball started .
It was also in Massachusetts, but in the city of Springfield, that the company Chicope Falls produced the first basketball in 1894, the same year that the sport arrived in Brazil.

Three years later, ACM promoted the first sport competition in South America, with the participation of six teams.
